Position Title: Analyst Intern

Osage Venture Partners (OVP) is a premier venture capital fund based just outside of Philadelphia that invests in early stage business-to-business (b2b) software companies on the East Coast. With over $150M under management, OVP seeks to invest in determined and creative entrepreneurs and provide them with the assistance required to build high growth businesses. OVP recently completed fundraising for its third fund and is actively making new investments in some of the most exciting tech startups on the East Coast.

OVP has enjoyed much success since its debut fund in 2005 and has funded over 30 companies across a range of enterprise sectors, including cloud, security, analytics, healthcare IT, and enterprise mobile. Notable investments include InstaMed (healthcare payments network), GoCanvas (enterprise mobile solutions), SevOne ($150M investment from Bain), and Ceptaris (acquired by Actelion for $250M).

Osage Venture Partners is part of the Osage Partners family of funds. Osage Partners has a twenty-year history of investing in VC and private equity deals, and it has over $500 million of capital under management. It currently has two distinct investment strategies, each of which has its own staff: Osage Venture Partners (described above) and Osage University Partners, which funds companies that have licensed intellectual property from universities.

Job Description:
Can you imagine getting paid to spend time with the leading entrepreneurs in the region and having the chance to read their business plans, to hear their pitches, and to watch the investment process in action? This is part of the role of an Analyst Intern at Osage Venture Partners.

The Analyst Intern will be integrally involved in several aspects of OVP and will be provided a front row seat to one of the top performing venture funds in the United States. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Learning and managing the deal flow tracking process
  • Collecting and analyzing key metrics of OVP portfolio companies
  • Summarizing data for quarterly reports and fundraising materials
  • Researching and reporting on industry trends and startup financings
  • Evaluating some of the East Coast’s most promising b2b software startups as potential new investments (OVP typically reviews over 400 investment opportunities per year)
  • Meeting with startup CEOs and senior management teams as part of the evaluation process
  • Conducting due diligence and market research in support of investment decisions and the existing portfolio of investments
  • Qualifications include:

  • Education and/or experience in software and/or business
  • Self-motivated and highly productive in independent work
